Our aim is to develop partnerships and provide programs in Western Australian that use cultural connection as the catalyst to increase the health, and social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal Australians.
The Institute of Indigenous Wellbeing and Sport (IIWS) is an Aboriginal community controlled not-for-profit organisation governed by a Board of Management. IIWS was formed in 2006 by request from the Nyoongar community and is committed to developing partnerships that maximise opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. These partnerships encourage participation in in sport and recreation in order to produce health, education, social and cultural benefits for individuals and their respective communities.
